What: Sacramento - On Tuesday, April 28, at 10:00 a.m., Donate Life
Ambassadors made up of transplant recipients, living organ
donors, and family members of organ and tissue donors will join
Sacramento area firefighters at the California Firefighters
Memorial at the State Capitol to receive a proclamation authored
by Senator George Runner and Senator John J. Benoit commemorating
DMV/Donate Life California Month. Registered donors have saved
the lives of more than 300 organ transplant recipients and healed
another 15,000 tissue recipients since the Donate Life California
Organ & Tissue Donor Registry was linked with the DMV in 2006.

Senator George Runner - State Senator, 17th District
Assemblyman Tom Berryhill - State Assemblyman, 25th District,
and heart recipient
Dan Haverty - Folsom Fire Chief and living liver donor
Duane Arend - Sacramento Metro EMS Director
Bryan Stewart - Donate Life California President
George Valverde - Department of Motor Vehicles Director
Nancy McAfee - Donor Mom, whose son Jordan Shortino became a
donor at age 19
